INDIANAPOLIS (AP) ? Chuck Pagano put on his dancing shoes and savored every moment of Sunday's postgame celebration.
He took his customary linebacker stance on the sideline, hands on bended knees. He signaled touchdowns when the Colts scored, patted Deji Karim on the helmet after a 101-yard kickoff return for a game-changing touchdown, and gestured for penalty flags to be thrown.
And after Indianapolis beat AFC South champion Houston 28-16, Pagano even tossed aside the stodgy image of an NFL coach and began jumping around with players, assistant coaches and even team owner Jim Irsay like he was a kid again.
Why not?
"There was a lot of high-fiving, a lot of dancing, a lot of hugging going on and a lot of celebrating," an emotional Pagano said. "There's a lot to celebrate right now."
It started with Pagano's return.
He took an indefinite leave Sept. 26 to begin the first of three rounds of chemotherapy for leukemia Sept. 26 and didn't make it back to the sideline until Sunday when the cancer was in complete remission.
When he left the field, he hugged everybody in sight ? assistant coaches, Colts players, even Texans players and coaches ? before moving the postgame party to the locker room, where Irsay presented him with a game ball and they did a do-si-do together.
"What a day, what a day," he said.
For everyone on the Colts.
"Guys really did not want to lose in his first game back and heading into the playoffs," rookie quarterback Andrew Luck said. "To get a win, I think means the world to him."
Luck, as usual, had a big hand in the victory. He was 14 of 28 for 191 yards with two more touchdowns and no interceptions.
He wasn't alone, though.
Karim swung the game with the kickoff return just seconds after the Texans took their only lead, and when Luck converted on third-and-23 with the 70-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter, the crowd was in a frenzy.
The Colts (11-5) will play at Baltimore in the wild-card round next weekend. The slumping Texans (12-4) have lost three of their last four and won't know their AFC seeding until after Denver and New England finish later Sunday.
"We had a great opportunity the last two weeks, but we won't feel sorry for ourselves," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said after giving Pagano a hug and whispering in his ear after the game. "We'll focus on keeping our confidence up, even if we have to play next week."
Indy did everything it needed to Sunday.
The Colts prevented J.J. Watt from getting too close to Luck ? or any closer to Michael Strahan's NFL sacks record (22?). Watt finished with 20?.
"We didn't win, so I could care less about the record. It's about winning," Watt said.
Luck broke Peyton Manning's franchise record for completions by a rookie but fell 15 short of Sam Bradford's NFL mark. Luck also moved into third all-time among rookies with 22 TD passes.
And Indy completed the second greatest turnaround in league history ? winning nine more games than it did in 2011.
"Man, this has been a great year, a storybook ending," Pro Bowl receiver Reggie Wayne said. "Let's keep it going. Hopefully we can continue to write this movie."
It didn't take long for the Colts to assert themselves in this emotional environment ? or to turn the game when the Texans took their only lead. Shayne Graham made a 37-yard field goal with 5:22 left in the third quarter, a lead that lasted all of 12 seconds.
Karim fielded the ensuing kickoff a yard deep in the end zone, found a seam in the middle of the field and never slowed until he reached the opposite end zone to make it 21-16. Pagano patted him on the helmet after the longest kickoff return since the Colts moved to Indy in 1984.
Then, facing third-and-23 from the 30, Luck threw a perfect strike through a narrow opening, hitting Hilton in stride for a 70-yard TD to make it 28-16.
On a day the Texans mostly settled for field goals, that's all the Colts needed.
Luck masterfully led the Colts to a 14-6 halftime lead.
Houston made it 14-13 when Arian Foster broke through a hole for a 13-yard TD run and saluted Pagano by tapping the (hash)Chuckstrong sign hanging on the wall behind the end zone instead of doing his trademark bow. Foster ran 16 times for 96 yards.
Graham's 37-yard field goal gave Houston the lead with 5:22 to go in the third quarter, but Karim's long TD return set off a celebration that didn't end until after Pagano had done his dance.
"It's like a dream come true again," Pagano said. "It's the greatest feeling in the world to be down there."
Schaub finished 24 of 36 for 275 yards with two interceptions and no touchdowns. Foster ran 16 times for 96 yards.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Whether negotiated in a rush before the new year or left for early January, the fiscal deal President Barack Obama and Congress cobble together will be far smaller than what they initially envisioned as an alternative to purposefully distasteful tax increases and spending cuts.
Instead, their deal, if a deal they indeed cut, will put off some big decisions about tax and entitlement changes and leave other deadlines in place that will likely lead to similar moments of brinkmanship, some in just a matter of weeks.
Republican and Democratic negotiators in the Senate were hoping for a deal as early as Sunday on what threshold to set for increased tax rates, whether to keep current inheritance tax rates and exemptions and how to pay for jobless benefits and avoid cuts in Medicare payments to doctors.
An agreement would halt automatic across-the-board tax increases for virtually every American and perhaps temporarily put off some steep spending cuts in defense and domestic programs.
Gone, however, is the talk of a grand deal that would tackle broad spending and revenue demands and set the nation on a course to lower deficits. Obama and Republican House Speaker John Boehner were once a couple hundred billion dollars apart of a deal that would have reduced the deficit by more than $2 trillion over ten years.
Republicans have complained that Obama has demanded too much in tax revenue and hasn't proposed sufficient cuts or savings in the nation's massive health care programs.
In an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press" that aired Sunday, Obama upped the pressure on Republicans to negotiate a fiscal deal, arguing that GOP leaders have rejected his past attempts to strike a bigger and more comprehensive bargain.
"The offers that I've made to them have been so fair that a lot of Democrats get mad at me," Obama said.
The interview was taped Saturday while aides to the Senate Republican leader, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., were engaged in negotiations in the Capitol in hopes of having something to present senators as early as Sunday.
"I was modestly optimistic yesterday, but we don't yet see an agreement," Obama said, referring to his mood Friday. "And now the pressure's on Congress to produce."
The trimmed ambitions of today are a far cry from the upbeat bipartisan rhetoric of just six weeks ago, when the leadership of Congress went to the White House to set the stage for negotiations to come.
"I outlined a framework that deals with reforming our tax code and reforming our spending," Boehner said as the leaders gathered on the White House driveway on Nov. 16.
"We understand that it has to be about cuts, it has to be about revenue, it has to be about growth, it has to be about the future," House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi said at the time. "I feel confident that a solution may be in sight."
And Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., offered a bold prediction: "There is no more let's do it some other time. We are going to do it now."
That big talk is over for now.
Senate negotiators were haggling over what threshold of income to set as the demarcation between current tax rates and higher tax rates. They were negotiating over estate limits and tax levels, how to extend unemployment benefits, how to prevent cuts in Medicare payments to doctors and how to keep a minimum income tax payment designed for the rich from hitting about 28 million middle class taxpayers.
But the deal was not meant to settle other outstanding issues, including more than $1 trillion in cuts over 10 years, divided equally between the Pentagon and other government spending. The deal also would not address an extension of the nation's borrowing limit, which the government is on track to reach any day but which the Treasury can put off through accounting measures for about two months.
That means Obama and the Congress are already on a new collision path. Republicans say they intend to use the debt ceiling as leverage to extract more spending cuts from the president. Obama has been adamant that unlike 2011, when the country came close to defaulting on its debts, he will not yield to those Republican demands.
As the day ended Saturday, there were few signs of success on a scaled-back deal. But no one was declaring a stalemate either.
Lawmakers have until the new Congress convenes to pass any compromise, and even the calendar mattered. Democrats said they had been told House Republicans might reject a deal until after Jan. 1, to avoid a vote to raise taxes before they had technically gone up, and then vote to cut taxes after they had risen.
Republicans said they were willing to bow to Obama's call for higher taxes on the wealthy as part of a deal to prevent them from rising on those less well-off.
Democrats said Obama was sticking to his campaign call for tax increases above $250,000 in annual income, even though he said in recent negotiations he said he could accept $400,000. There was no evidence of agreement even at the higher level.
Obama, who once proposed nearly $1.6 trillion in tax revenue over 10 years, would get about half of that if he succeeded in getting a $250,000 threshold over 10 years. At a $400,000 level, the revenue figure drops to about $600 billion over a decade.
Republicans want to leave the estate tax at 35 percent after exempting the first $5 million in estate value. Officials said the White House wants a 45 percent tax after a $3.5 million exemption. Without any action by Congress, it would climb to a 55 percent tax after a $1 million exemption on Jan. 1. Obama's proposal would generate more than $100 billion in additional revenue over 10 years.
Democrats stressed their unwillingness to make concessions on both income taxes and the estate tax, and hoped Republicans would choose which mattered more to them.

A huge, colorful shellfish reef discovered off Scotland's west coast could be the largest of its kind in the world, according to the Scottish government.

The flame shell reef is located in Loch Alsh, a sea inlet between the Isle of Skye and the Scottish mainland. The overall population of flame shells in the inlet is likely to exceed 100 million and is the largest-known flame shell reef anywhere in the United Kingdom, the Scottish government said in a statement.
"This important discovery may be the largest grouping of flame shells anywhere in the world," Scottish Environment Secretary Richard Lochhead said in the statement. "And not only are flame shells beautiful to look at, these enigmatic shellfish form a reef that offers a safe and productive environment for many other species."
Flame shells (Limaria hians) build 'nests' by binding gravel and shells together with thin, wiry threads. The shellfish are around 1.5 inches (4 centimeters) in length and group together in such numbers that they cover the seabed with a feltlike organic reef of nest material several inches thick. Flame shell beds are found in only eight sites in Scottish waters.

"We are delighted that, in this instance, we found not just occasional patches, but a huge and thriving flame shell community extending right the way along the entrance narrows of Loch Alsh. This is a wonderful discovery for all concerned."
The Loch Alsh inlet was surveyed as part of a program to identify new Marine Protected Areas, which help defend marine habitat. The reef's discovery strengthens the case for proposing the inlet as a protected area, said Calum Duncan, Scotland program manager for the Marine Conservation Society.

In 1976, Helen became the first foster child to leave the United States and live in another country.? Without warning or explanation, Helen woke up one morning to find that her sister had been taken from Europe and returned to the US.? No one ever came looking for her.? She was invisible to a system that did not remain in contact with her to ensure her safety and stability.? Helen graduated high school at age 16 and received no guidance or support regarding higher education from her foster family.? At age 17 she returned to the US but to a different state from where she departed.? Low self-esteem and little valuable communication skills led Helen to sleeping pills.? With few options, Helen was married and soon became pregnant because she had never learned about birth control.? There was also a time in her young adult life that she experienced homelessness.

Helen had never been taught how to make good decisions but for the first time in her life she was ready to set goals and follow a plan to reach them.? She was 35 and decided to write a book.? Prior to this awakening, every day in her life was about sheer survival.? She lacked basic interpersonal dynamics and knowledge of social norms. CAIRO (Reuters) - The governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Farouk El-Okdah, said on Sunday he had not resigned from his post, denying a report aired on state television the previous day which said he had stepped down.
Egypt's cabinet had already denied the report the previous day .
"I did not resign," El-Okdah told reporters at the cabinet headquarters on Sunday after a meeting with a ministerial committee for economic policies.
There has been regular speculation in the media that he wanted to leave his post, and state TV had reported that he had resigned and that his former deputy, Hisham Ramez, had been appointed to replace him.
El-Okdah helped steer the central bank during last year's uprising which ousted former President Hosni Mubarak and is credited with helping keep the Egyptian currency relatively stable despite the political turmoil.

Balance your strength with dumbbell training. If strength is unsymmetrical side-to-side dumbbell training is a perfect fit. Create balance by adding an exercise or a set for the underdeveloped muscle.

Dealing with estate records can be very confusing. There is typically a lot of legal jargon used, and the purpose or outcome of a record is not always clear to the layperson. While I am certainly no expert when it comes to legal matters, I will do my best to give you a basic explanation of wills and probate records. Hopefully it will be at least enough of an explanation to get you started with your research.
When an individual dies he or she inevitably leaves behind possessions and/or debts that must be dealt with. This is done in one of two ways. Either the individual left a will detailing how the estate should be handled and who should do the handling (the executor). Or the estate is ?intestate? meaning that there was no will or that the will was not a legal will and was not ?proved? by the court. Intestate estates are assigned an administrator, usually either a relative or a creditor. In both cases, the proceedings of the estate are dealt with in a court, often called a probate court.
Nearly everyone who owned anything had a probate proceeding, and therefore has probate records out there waiting to be discovered by you.
This application for administration from Clinton County shows that the deceased died without a will. It is full of genealogical information, and it's just one page from the probate file for this individual.
Wills are held by the County Clerk. The clerk?s office typically keeps a copy of each will in a will book. These can be accessed freely at the courthouse in the county where your relative passed away. However, these are copies of the original record, which is likely kept in a probate file. Depending on the year of death, this file may be in archives (either at the courthouse or at some off-site location) or in the clerk?s office. Since the copy may contain clerical errors, it is always best to locate the original whenever possible. Contact the clerk?s office to find out where to begin your search and how to obtain copies of the records. A list of Indiana County Clerks is available here. Most offices will locate, copy, and mail the records to you for a fee. If you do the research yourself, be aware that there will still be a fee for copying the files.
Probate records are rich resources. They will contain any bit of information that was necessary for the executor or administrator to determine rightful heirs, establish outstanding debts, and divide the property amongst them. This may include the following.

If the deceased did not approve of a marriage, thought a child left home too early, preferred one offspring over another, or disinherited a son or daughter for any reason, it will likely be listed in the will. If you promised that, in some distant future, the Grim Reaper would delay his visit to me by two hours and forty-nine minutes, the running time of director Peter Jackson?s ?The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,? I might not feel so put out by its indulgent length. While splendid in several ways, the rewards narrowly outdistance its daunting duration.
Point of disclosure: Never a big fan of alternate universe fiction, I much prefer my metaphors domestically sourced. Still, this is reasonably good stuff if you?re a fan of J.R. Tolkien?s original works and have the requisite time to imbibe the seemingly endless details and minutiae that went into the famed author?s construction of his Middle-earth.
For the uninitiated, that?s where the writer set the majority of his Odyssey-like adventures. Virtual mini pageants about nations, civilizations and the cultural motivations that both form and destroy them, replete with the maxims of history, they consist of a prose unto itself. This means whole different tongues to learn, if you?re of a mind.
In this installment, which will spawn at least two follow-ups from the filmmaker, the acknowledged interpreter extraordinaire of things Tolkien suffuses the silver screen with the panoply of beings who populate those fictional worlds. Hence, we are first introduced to Martin Freeman?s Bilbo Baggins, the title character, who relates his tale in flashback.
Following a visit from Gandalf, a wizard convincingly portrayed by Ian McKellen, Bilbo?s storybook cottage is invaded by a horde of dwarves who, after eating just about everything he had in his larder, invoke his help to regain their homeland. Gandalf has assured them that Hobbits are great burglars, a necessary element to achieving said goal.
Well, this dubious skill is heretofore unknown to the inveterate homebody, who has grown quite content in his life of books, cushy armchair and garden. But Gandalf rails at Bilbo?s bourgeois reluctance, and reminds him of the brave and illustrious Hobbit heritage that has made his comfy lifestyle possible. Naturally, the adventure is soon afoot.
What follows is a seemingly endless rollercoaster ride through all manner of strange and foreboding lands, each informing of yet another set of mores and folkways that must be learned if one is to safely traverse them. I won?t go through the whole gaggle of creatures we encounter, but will state that some are pretty good folks, once you grok their meaning.
But evildoers make up the majority. Trolls comprise a society of murder, mayhem and disdain for all that is good. Orcs are pretty nasty, too. In this episode, that bodes quite badly as Thorin (Richard Armitage), Gandalf?s pick to lead the mission, has been reviled ever since chopping off the Orc king?s hand, supposedly leaving him for dead. Wrong!
While some of these species speak what we hear as English, most of them have their own languages and dialects. But no need to bring along your Middle-earth dictionary unless you don?t put much stock in subtitles. And don?t worry about telling the good guys from the scum. With few politically correct exceptions, the uglier, the more nefarious.
Note at this juncture, however, that as I am among the great unwashed, my review will be and should be besides the point to diehard Hobbit tifosi. Doubtless, sources hip to Hobbit lore will hash out its authenticity ad nauseam. My quest through these eccentric climes is to conclude whether the general viewing public will find the film entertaining.
Thus, on the one hand, there is adventure aplenty, great colorful landscapes and smart, whimsically delivered moral lessons, provided the casual traveler can pick up on enough of the jive without feeling left out of the club. And therein lies the rub. With endless allusion to Hobbit obscurities, one can?t help feel the secret handshake is being withheld.
It occurs that patience is the quality most required by those inclined to drink in the vast glossary of information comprising Mr. Tolkien?s grand creation. Yet, as the twelve-year-old me could spend hours poring over the library of comic books in Norman Ginsberg?s basement, I can see this holding a similar aura for today?s adolescent and litt?rateur alike.
Impressive characterizations both by the protagonists and the motley crew of ancillary beings not only help create the epochal atmosphere, but are often interesting in and of themselves. Of course we identify with Martin Freeman?s Bilbo, our ordinary Hobbit placed in extraordinary circumstances. And as Wizards go, Mr. McKellen is masterly.
But geez, 169 minutes? I?m just getting over ?Reds? (1981), which, at three hours and fifteen minutes might be a good enough diversion if you?re roasting an 18 pound turkey, unstuffed, mind you. While aficionados will say that devotion knows no end, others who take in ?The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey? will worry that the film doesn?t have one.

The country is still in shock over Friday's massacre in Connecticut and already the debate on gun control has kicked into high gear. But shouldn't we look at the perpetrator and what prompted his actions in the first place? Shouldn't the first debate be about mental health issues and how to address them?
Authorities say Adam Lanza, 20, shot and killed his mother that morning and then drove to Sandy Hook Elementary School to commit the horrific killing spree before killing himself. According to initial reports, Lanza appeared to have had some mental problems prior to the shooting, but it is difficult to say that it would have predicted this.
Authorities also say that the guns Lanza used had been purchased legally, and he was actually stopped from purchasing another rifle by existing gun laws. He appeared to have circumvented school security measures by forcing his way into the building. He appeared intend on doing what he did and gun laws and security measures were unable to stop him.
Gawker.com had a poignant story titled "I am Adam Lanza's Mother." It is authored by someone going by the name of Lisa Long and chronicles her attempts to deal with a child struggling with mental illness. Someone born to her. Someone whom she loves - but is scared of just the same. Her own child - a potential Adam Lanza.
Instead of rushing to address gun laws, shouldn't the mental health system be the first issue that needs to be addressed?

The United Kingdom and other member states have blocked an attempt to put the United Nations in control of the Internet at a conference in Dubai this week.
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) ? the UN?s agency for information and communications technology ? brought together representatives from around the world to try and agree on updating telecoms regulations that hadn?t been touched since 1988.
But representatives from the UK and US, as well as from Chile, Costa Rica, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Italy, Kenya, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal and Sweden said they wouldn?t be able to sign up without discussing it first with their domestic governments.
Critics claim that giving equal rights to each state of the UN and putting one vote in each of their hands could lead to Internet censorship. High profile figures such as?Vint Cerf, one of the creators of the internet, and Sir Tim-Berners Lee, inventor of the World Wide Web, even said such regulations would be a threat to a free internet and standards should be left to the private sector organisations building the technology.
However, countries such as Russia, China and Saudi Arabia have said the current Internet governance framework allows the US to hold the rights to the naming and registration of addresses on the internet and puts control into select hands. They believe new regulations are now needed.

BAGHDAD (AP) ? Iraqi authorities say a car bomb has killed five people and wounded eleven others in the country's north, the second day in a row in which blasts have targeted disputed regions there.
Police officials said the explosion Monday morning was in al-Mouafaqiyah, a village inhabited by families from the Shabak ethnic group. The region near the city of Mosul, 360 kilometers (225 miles) northwest of Baghdad, is claimed by Arabs, Turkmen and Kurds.
The Shabak have their own distinct language and belief system.
Medics in nearby hospital confirmed the casualties. All officials in the two spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release details to journalists.
Sunday's attacks left at least eight killed and dozens wounded.
