Chop't Salad, an anticipated addition to the Bethesda food scene, opens today in the Wildwood Shopping Center offering free food in exchange for donations to a popular local charity.
For four hours today Chop't will hand out free salads and sandwiches for $2 donations to the Montgomery County Manna Food Center, according to its Facebook page.

The chain has locations in New York and Washington, DC, according to its website. Customers can choose or customize salads or "salad sandwiches," salads wrapped in flat bread. Options include twists on classic cobb, greek and ceasar salads along with a few more unique offerings, like the "Grilled Asian" and "Palm Beach Shrimp" salads.
Diners can also choose from a seasonal menu, which features salads made with local ingredients. Those offerings shift every 60 days.
The new location is planned for 10307 Old Georgetown Road.
