Customizing your apartment without pissing off your landlord isn't a simple task, so you need to employ some creative thinking and a few accessories to bring color into home when modifications aren't an option. That's what Jim Cramer did with his workspace, demonstrating that a clean environment and an accent color?in this case, green?can go a long way:
I work from home so I spend a lot of time in this room. We are currently renting and did not want to paint so the color had to come from accessories. I settled on green as you can see.
It's bright and cheery which is keeps me from going crazy looking at plans all day (I work for a company that manufactures custom animal enclosures for zoos, veterinarians etc.)
Almost all of the furnishings came from Ikea, so it's all affordable. Still need to clean up some wires but it's getting there.
If you have a workspace of your own to show off, throw the pictures on your Flickr account and add it to the Lifehacker Workspace Show and Tell Pool. Include some details about your setup and why it works for you, and you just might see it featured on the front page of Lifehacker.
