Flagpoles are being erected all over the country of Iran ? but they?re reportedly not just your average flagpoles. Instead, what usually marks a symbol of national pride could actually be censorship in the form of electronic antennas used to jam communications and block residents from getting TV, internet and radio signals.
Expert on Iran Lisa Daftari said the country is taking aim at this particular area because it?s ?the Achilles heel of the government in Iran.?
?What they want to do is protect their existence, and that?s what they feel very vulenerable in, in terms of communication. They?ll go to any means to stop the flow of communication,? she said.
