Rowan-Cabarrus Community College offers both real estate pre-licensing and the required post-licensing continuing education courses for realtors. The next set of real estate pre-licensing classes begins Sept. 5.
Instructor Cindy Baggarly has more than 25 years? experience in the local real estate market.
?I?m passionate about real estate. I?ve always loved mentoring new agents and teaching has allowed me to help people learn in an ever-changing, evolving industry,? said Baggarly.
Rowan-Cabarrus instructors have a background in hands-on sales, helping students learn the materials but also guiding them in ultimately becoming a better agent.
Real estate licensing has a reputation for being intense. However, with the market just beginning to turn around, experts say that now is a good time to get back to school and secure a solid educational background.
This real estate pre-licensing course is required in preparation to become a ?provisional broker.? The course covers basic real estate principles and practices, including real estate law, contracts, brokerage practices, financing, closing, valuation, fair housing, property management, taxation, and mathematics and other related topics.
?It takes strong self-discipline, commitment, and ethics to be a great real estate agent. Being up-to-date with technology is also very important,? said Baggarly.
?Given the complexity of the material and the exam, a three-hour class allows ample time to study and absorb information. Proof of our success is demonstrated by our pass rate on the national exam which is over 85 percent.
?There has been an ominous cloud looming over the real estate market for quite some time. With rising rental prices and low interest rates, we just may be on the brink of prime time for real estate,? said Baggarly.
Students who pass the in-class final exam are eligible to sit for the North Carolina Real Estate Commission exam that is required to become a licensed real estate broker.
There is a $175 registration fee for this course. The college will offer two sections of this class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30-11:30 a.m. or 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the South Campus.
