You know, I don?t much care what you need photography for specifically. You might find this statement odd, but it?s not. I do not need to know what you are specifically searching for in order to give you my recommendation. The process of getting the right chicago photographer is roughly the same no matter what your specific need or want is.
For example, the first thing you will want to do is to ask around and see if anyone you know has had that kind of work done. Whether this is doing a fashion photo-shoot of yourself, a family portrait or dog portraits? The process is always the same. Go and find someone you trust who has done it in the past. Not only will they have used a photographer they can recommend or recommend against, but they likely also did the research! This means you don?t have to research the subject yourself! Just ask them what their findings and what their conclusion from their research was. Try to find out if they have any good advice and tips. See if they recommend against any traps and if they have any warnings.
If you don?t have many friends in the city of Chicago, then you will have to look to other venues. I suggest trying to find friends who have general knowledge of photography. Even though they might now be informed up on the specific niche you?re looking at, they will still have some general information that is good for you.
And finally, remember that you are a unique individual and you need to trust your gut. Even if a 100 people recommend one photographer to you, but you find you dislike the person?s character, please don?t force yourself to hire them. Trust your intuition first and foremost, above everything else.
